Melvin "Biddy" Howard

Melvin “Biddy” Howard, 79 of England, was born July 17, 1944 in England, Arkansas, to the late Albert and Octavia Howard.  Biddy worked most of his life on the farm as a field hand, cotton gins, rice dryer or any type of manual labor; you name it, he did it.  He would do various different jobs for individuals near or far.  Biddy also loved picking up cans for that extra change to go in his pockets.  Some people referred to him as the (Can Man).  He enjoyed his frequent visits from his beloved niece Brenda Brooks during his stay at Cavalier Nursing Home. Melvin accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and savior later in his life and he will be missed dearly.

Biddy is preceded in death by his parents, Ablert and Octavia Howard, a brother; Jimmy Ray Howard and sister; Wanda Jean Foreman.  He is survived by three brothers, Michael and wife Lahonda Howard of Oakland California, Earl and wife Terry Howard of Stuttgart, and Alvin and late wife Rochelle Howard of England; four sisters, Mabelene  and husband Robert Roberts of Little Rock, Joann Howard of England, Betty Mays of England and Dorthena and husband Delmar Scribner of England and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  Visitation will be Friday April 19, 5pm – 7pm at Wilson-Robison Chapel, Graveside services will be Saturday 20, at 11am at Nellum Cemetery.
